## Tips

### Fix soft eyes with an upscale

Like many Illustrious mixes, Bismuth can render eyes soft or muddy, with the
iris and lashes blurring together. Running the result through
[upscale](/docs/guides/upscale-images) often cleans them up: the upscaler
redraws the small details at a higher resolution, and the eyes come back sharp
and even.

- `effort: "low"` ($0.03) already fixes most of it.
- `effort: "high"` ($0.15) adds finer detail to lashes, freckles and skin.
- A 1024-class image fits `4x`; larger ones need `2x`.
